Religious
Crusader Coin Jewelry

In Medieval Times, Genoa Italy was a dominant maritime power rivaled only by Venice in importance.  Because of Genoa's strategic and economic importance and the city's participation in the Crusades, it was granted the right to mint coins.  Silver Denaro coins of Genoa Italy were minted in great quantities to help pay the armies of Christian Crusaders in their effort to recapture the Holy Land from the Muslims.  These "Crusader" coins, which incorporate the Jerusalem cross on one side, make exceptionally beautiful and very popular pieces of jewelry when mounted in a gold bezel.

The Crusades were a series of religious military campaigns intended to restore Christian control of the Holy Land, particularly the Holy City of Jerusalem.  There were a total of nine crusades,  waged by the Christians against Muslim expansion in the Holy Land, covering a period of nearly 200 years (between 1095 and 1291).

Certificates of Authenticity accompany all Religious Crusader coin jewelry.  View a typical New World Treasures photo type Certificate of Authenticity.  See a group of five coins.
